What works in Ghana

Set up for Ghana the moment you sign up.

Ghanaian cedi (GH₵)

Your workspace runs in GH₵ — prices, receipts, invoices, printouts, the books and every report, with till cash buttons sized for your notes. No naira anywhere.

15% VAT, set up for you

Ghana's standard 15% VAT is created when you sign up and applied on sales and bills. It's a default you can change — add zero-rated or other rates in Settings → Tax. Ghana also charges the NHIL (2.5%) and GETFund (2.5%) levies alongside VAT, so the total on a standard sale is higher than 15%. Set up a combined rate that includes them in Settings → Tax, and check the current rules with your accountant.

+233 phone numbers

Customer and staff numbers are read in your local format (+233 24 123 4567) and stored as international numbers, so WhatsApp messages, SMS, pickup codes and share links reach the right phone.

Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0)

“Today” in your reports, reminders, collections and appointments follows your own time zone — set from your browser or country when you sign up.

Mobile money & split payments

Customers pay with cash, MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AT Money and cards. Mobile Money is a built-in payment method on the till and on invoices, so those takings reconcile separately from cash. (You record the payment — there's no direct link to the wallet provider.)

Cheap Android phones, offline till

Runs on the web, on inexpensive Android phones and handhelds, iOS, and a Windows or Mac desktop till. The desktop till keeps selling with no internet and syncs when the network returns.

FAQ

IloByte Pro in Ghana — questions, answered

Does IloByte Pro work in Ghana?

Yes. Sign up with Ghana as your country and your workspace starts in Ghanaian cedi (GH₵), on the 15% standard VAT rate and on Greenwich Mean Time (UTC+0). Phone numbers use +233 for WhatsApp and SMS.

How much does IloByte Pro cost in Ghana?

Basic $5, Advanced $8 and Enterprise $18 per user per month. You can pay in US dollars, or in naira (Basic ₦4,000, Advanced ₦5,500, Professional ₦8,000 and Enterprise ₦14,000). Pay yearly and get 2 months free. 14-day free trial, no card required.

Can I record mobile money payments?

Yes. Mobile Money is a built-in payment method on the till and on invoices, alongside cash, card and bank transfer, so MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money takings are tracked separately from cash. IloByte Pro does not connect directly to the wallet provider — you record the payment as it comes in.

Is 15% VAT fixed?

No. 15% is Ghana's standard rate and is set up for you at signup as a starting default. You can change it or add other rates in Settings → Tax. It's a convenience, not tax advice — confirm your obligations with your accountant. Ghana also charges the NHIL (2.5%) and GETFund (2.5%) levies alongside VAT, so the total on a standard sale is higher than 15%. Set up a combined rate that includes them in Settings → Tax, and check the current rules with your accountant.

Does it include Nigerian features like NRS (formerly FIRS) e-invoicing and PAYE?

No — those are for Nigerian businesses only and are not applied in Ghana. IloByte Pro is not connected to the GRA E-VAT system, and local payroll tax tables are not pre-built, so file and pay statutory taxes as you do today.

What language is the app in?

The IloByte Pro app is in English.

Does it work offline and on cheap phones?

It runs on the web, inexpensive Android phones and handhelds, iOS, and a Windows or Mac desktop till. The desktop till keeps ringing sales with no internet and syncs every sale when the network comes back.
